The Art Of Receiving, Part Two

When you are in the state of reception you recognize that you come from a limitless source or origin.  You are conscious of the fullness of life.  Waking moments are filled with gratitude.  Your day is filled with receiving each moment as gifts and as your thoughts are aligned with gratitude within your actions your life appears limitless and joyful.  An atmosphere of plenty surrounds every moment.

People may argue that thinking everything is limitless is naive.  Surely there is not a enough money, they say.  Surely there are not enough jobs for all.  Surely there are not limitless ways to do something.   It is this kind of thinking that makes receiving very difficult.  Respect of resources continues to be a necessary aspect of your ability to receive.  Yet, fear of losing and states of neediness, put a clamp on the connection to our limitless origins.

You see signs stating Believe.  This reminder can be helpful in opening up your receptors to all that is intended for you today.  On this last day of the year, let’s take a step toward receiving our inheritance of an amazing existence.

A Must-Have Skill: The Art of Receiving

As you read these words and find you are in a peaceful state, you already understand the art of receiving.

Think about it.  When you are in a receptive mood everything flows between and among all of life’s energy. You experience a feeling of wellness.  Everything is easy and you feel proud!

When you act from a stance of controlling a situation, you stop the connection.  You experience stress.

You can save the day effortlessly when your actions are directed by inspiration.  You realize you have received an idea that will help.

On the other hand, when you attempt to save the day with thoughts of need and control, you have to extend great effort and you are exhausted at the end of the attempt.  You experience little happiness before, during or after this action.  This is due to the fact that it comes from your ego, your false self.  The thinking behind your actions are not received but manufactured in a state of absolute need.

The art of receiving makes everything facile.  Greatness emerges from this skill.  As you approach your day know that everything and everyone you meet is a gift to you. Know that you are a gift to others also.  Let joy enter your day and your ability to receive will grow. Place yourself in the state of reception whenever you find yourself losing your joy.  See if your day is not filled with more energy, happiness and sanity.

Road To Relaxation

Each day if you choose to be miserable, you can build one worry and concern on top of the other.  You can imagine all sorts of things that could go wrong during the day.  You can strategize and plan ways to overcome the troublesome things that may come your way.

Remember these imaginings are created by your thoughts.  They most certainly will cross your path if you wish.  You can create a day full of conflict, hurt and sorrow.

Just as easily, you can recognize the underlying road of relaxation that is always with you.  Yes, your core being is perfect.  It is neither good nor bad.  It simply is.

If you choose, imagine a wonderful day filled with happy surprises.  Take time before you start your day to be grateful for your body, for all the people you will meet today, for your surroundings.  If you choose, put a smile on your face right now and begin your day on the road to relaxation.

Create Positive Situations With Positive Thinking

You want to be happy today, …now.  As you become aware of all the thoughts that attract thought-like-situations, you can steer away from negative thinking and steer toward more and more positive thoughts.

You may not realize how many negative thoughts surround your day.

Think of yourself in a small, motorized row-boat.  You are floating in ocean water.  As you advance toward your goal (land) you see floating pieces of wood that will jam your motor so you steer around.  You see masses of bark and lots and seaweed you must steer around.  If you get entangled in the patch you could be caught up indefinitely.  You understand how easily it would be to overturn the boat and you are reminded how you must balance the boat so as not to capsize in the middle of nowhere.  You are unable to enjoy the boat ride with all this worry and concern.  If you stop and consider, this may be the story of your life.

You may get up in the morning only to meet every challenge that you have created in your mind:  too much work, too little money, too much noise, too little privacy, etc.  Your thoughts have created this reality.  And when you stop polluting your mind with thoughts of negativity you will be left with an ocean, a reality, of happiness.  Happiness is always present, just as the ocean is always present.  You are made of happiness.  It is your substance.  You only need to stop polluting your happiness with negative thoughts and you’ll find it immediately.

In case you don’t realize (and all of us don’t) what your negative thoughts look like, click on this file.  When you are aware of your thoughts, you can steer away from them and replace them with positive thinking. Imagine life with no worries.  Attract situations that will allow you to smile today.

Peace, Joy, Hope, and Love

Today is the best day to incorporate thoughts of peace, joy, hope and love into your daily activities.  Pause before beginning your day with these powerful attitudes to create a magnificent day with the results you desire!

Consider this.  Your attitude, your thoughts, can create 100 percent of your happiness or unhappiness. Thoughts have power.  A very clever person came up with this interesting piece of information: when you count the letters in “attitude” as they fall in the alphabet they add up to 100%.

A=1 T=20  T=20  I=9  T=20  U=21  D=4  E= 5

  Word = 100 percent

This is a brilliant way to remember that your attitude will produce one hundred percent of your reality.  If the majority of your day is spent with an attitude of sorrow, there is nothing to be expected but a sorrowful day.  It does not mean that you have to sustain positive attitudes 100% of the day.  However, the more positive attitudes or thoughts you can entertain during the day, the happier your situation seems to become.  You draw more, and more happy thoughts to your mind and your reality manifests more, and more happy situations for you and those around you.  (from Aunt Barbara’s Powerful Little Book of Comfort)

Today is a great day to fold the four attitudes of peace, joy, hope and love into your daily activities. It will make a difference.

The Presence of Christmas

Peace

Quiet peace,

Like the snow

It softly falls upon our thoughts

Of one another and covers our

Consciousness for a brief, wonderful moment.

Winter Holidays can remind us about the softer things in life.  Peace and joy become objects that cover our hearts this time of  year.  Decorations, gift-giving, singing, and holiday music do their job to remind us about the existence of joy.

In fact, joy is always present within each of us. You probably are not aware of breathing going on right now, but some joyful event is sending oxygen to all parts of your body without your awareness. Unless your body is sick, you do not need to reach for ways to breathe. Unless you are out of balance and blocking your source of energy with sad, negative thoughts, joy and happiness is radiating all aspects of your life.

Instead of thinking of joy as something to reach out for, it may be helpful to think of  joy as the center of your being. Think of it as something you can be present to.  It is our substance. We can wish someone joy and happiness, but perhaps what we are really doing is saying to remember who you are!  Remember that you are made of joy and happiness.

The next time someone wishes you happiness try thinking about the fact that you don’t have to locate an object to make you happy.  It is your core being.  It is who you are.  Take their wish and celebrate your core being! Thank them for the reminder.

I hope you think of my wish for you in a new light.  I wish you a Joyful Christmas!

On the eve of Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas  It has been said  that the source of energy is within each of us.  It appears to me that love is the source of energy.  The first rule of celebrating Christmas is to take a moment to celebrate yourself and the magnificent service of your body and mind.  If you would take a moment and give yourself a gift of the present moment.  Take a deep breath of satisfaction.  Take a moment to think about the amazing production that is taking place right now in your circulatory system.  Take a moment to think about how lucky you are to see this computer and the words I am writing.  Amazing.

I don’t even know you, but I am able to reach out to you.  This is the miracle of the present moment.  This is something I can be grateful for and celebrate.  I can enjoy myself.  And, when I love myself I can find it oh so easy to love others.  As I love others I find that there is no limit to my love.  At this time of year, I am grateful for life within and without me.

Just a reminder: the happiness of the holidays does not have to exist only within large gatherings.  It can be found with as few as one, although it can be magnified with another or others.  The point here is that life is here for all of us, no matter how many or how few are around our table.

Be at peace and freely enjoy yourself!

For those who love the printed word….

For those of you who love holding a book in your hand while reading, here’s a chance to buy one book and get a second one at 50 % off.  One day only at Lulu.com.

I discovered Lulu.com a few months ago.  On the bottom of the iTunes page there was a link for publishing your books and both Lulu.com and Smashwords.com were prominent companies referred for writers and musicians.  It is an interesting concept for those of us who are unexpicably creative.

The substance of creativity is generosity.  It is difficult to create something from nothing and then hide it away in some corner.  Creative expression shouts connectivity.  It is so satisfying when my words fall into someone’s mind and returned to me in a new, creative forms.

The interchange, sharing of ideas and expression is like air.

Whatever you can imagine, you can do!

Even though I am one of those people who enjoy the journey more than the arrival, I do find great satisfaction in completing a book project begun in October.

In October I began writing about positive solutions to help others heal from very difficult situations.   As in most efforts to help others, I benefited.   I moved towards consistently choosing positive solutions over complaining or worrying.  As a practice administrator, this can be an ongoing challenge. Yet each day, I see evidence of greater opportunities to find the joy that exists within me at all times.  I look forward to enjoying this adventure and I eagerly embrace the wonderful adventures that lie ahead.  I hope to embrace them all!

If you are interested or know someone who would benefit from reading this little book, it is available here and soon on Amazon.com

As you’ve probably heard before, you can do anything you put your mind to.  It is true!
