When is the last time you talked about time?
What do you consider the foundation of time management?
We are good at finding time to do chores, help our family and friends, maintain our appearance for the good of others. Whether we realize it or not, we often give ourselves a backseat for the good of others. It is only when we feel grumpy, uncomfortable do we wonder why time is controlling us! There are so many ways we allow time to manage us!
How much control do you have over time?
I was taught to offer my time to everyone else before myself. To keep time for myself was considered selfish.
The effect was not all that bad. I became proficient in facing any challenge. I could and still can solve just about any challenge handed me. Yet, if I am true, I am sometimes disappointed that others do not look after my goals as I have looked after theirs. When I am looking for a return , I am off … and I don’t feel good. On the other hand, when I keep time under my control, I am more at peace.
This does not mean I am now spending all my time on my goals. Far from it! But now time is more and more under my control. I choose to share it with others and sometimes I choose not to share it. It is the time I have been given and I am grateful. But it does belong to me for the using! Unlike eternal, non-physical ideas, time is finite and connected to living on earth. I hope this is clear. If not, stop and think how much control you hold over your gift of time.
Choose to do what makes you feel happy. Turn away from what makes you feel uncomfortable, angry, fearful, anxious, lonely.
Think about time on a regular basis.
How do you spend your treasure of time? Do you connect it with happiness? Are you afraid to be happy?
Time is yours to spend. Do you give it away or have you finally realized it is your treasure?
Thank you for taking the time to let me share this time with you!
