I’ve heard it said, Gratitude is the healthiest of emotions. So I propose music, writing, dancing, painting, drawing, singing, liberal arts, are the healthiest of activities. And, don’t you know this is the time to stay healthy. 🙂

How to be a source of energy during a pandemic.

It is a choice to remain a beam of light when it seems like darkness looms all around. Energy is eternal. It is within us and without us. It is at our disposal at all times.

Spring after Winter reminds us to keep hope alive!

Sources of energy radiate through internal ideas. I can chose to act on those ideas. Passion for these small creative inspirations gets me, and the world around me, through days of uncertainty.

This morning I woke up wondering how I could help others without leaving my home. I first felt a twinge of guilt. Manny and I are staying at home or in the car to avoid getting and spreading COVID-19. Then the idea came to me to write to you! I was ready to jump out of bed at 5:00 a.m., filled with anticipation. How fun is that?! How far from the worry and concern over our family, friends and neighbors! So here are my thoughts today:

We are each beams of light. Worry covers the light. In the next few days, I hope to share little ideas that can uncover your source of energy.

Your light can make a difference!

  • Think and focus on the people in your home.
  • Find ways to reach out to your family, friends and neighbors.
  • Stop talking about the obvious bad things (hard to do) and focus on some good, fun loving things!)
  • Look to serve those around you.
  • Let go of worry
  • Make room within yourself for smiles, ideas, and favorite projects

A. If you feel stuck at home, get yourself a cup of tea or coffee and make a list of projects around the house you’ve been wanting to take on but haven’t had the time. Now you do!

B. Just because you can’t visit your friends at the moment, you can call them. Use FaceTime. Get yourself ready by dressing up. You can even create a conference and get a few of your friends together through several video apps. (If there’s interest, I can write more about this)

C. I discovered I can play together with my grandchildren online by using my PlayStation4 Plus Party feature. I can create a private party with as many as 16 people. Many games allow up to 8 players, while some games are 1 player. In this case we take turns. What a concept.

My grandchildren come alive, “Nana!” “Nana!”, “come over here. See me! Behind you! Use the square!” We played Minecraft last night until we had to go to bed. It was amazingly social and fun —- and —- we were not in the house together. We were socially distant and cooperating with the safety of others.

There’s more to talk about and I hope to encourage anyone who is getting discouraged. As always choose the brighter side of life! I’m sure you have many more ideas. Please share them here.
