Good things are coming!

Every day you are presented with amazing, enjoyable opportunities. You can choose what you want to enjoy and what you want to pass up. Just like a smorgasbord!

Good things are always coming. Sometimes the good things are so quiet you miss them completely. Sometimes they are so loud, you can ignore them.

Last week I went into our side private garden. I was amused by a robin who was under a bush yet looking directly at me, squawking. I looked down at my garden and tried to let the bird have its space. I decided I better go back in the house. But as I looked back at the bird, I saw 3 deer just beyond the fence on the hill. They too were looking at me but didn’t run away. It was pretty magical for me.

The next day I went out to the yard and a robin flew off from the corner of the porch. I was curious what the bird was doing in the corner of the ledge of the porch.

It was a nest. I quickly went back in the house. The robin went back to the nest and settled in. This was pretty special to me!

I realized there were eggs and I realized not only was their a female robin, there was a doting male robin. It is clear to me good things are coming!

It got me to thinking how lucky I am to have numerous experiences to choose from. I believe this is true for everyone. And now that we know what we don’t want: coronavirus, we can choose what we do want. I’ll have a conversation more about this in upcoming days.

For now I’m going to play with the opportunities I am given today, as I physically distant myself (since March 11th) ! Best to you wherever you are.

Can you see our new friend, Rocking Red Robin?

We can do this!

Never Give Up. We can do this

There is no doubt, our entire world is experiencing an historic event. We are sheltered into isolation and we hear mixed messages until we become shaken.

Manny’s Favorite Subjects for Painting

Don’t give up. When you feel anxious, take a nap. Listen to music. Paint a picture. Call a friend. Refresh yourself. Remember you have rebounded before and this new experience will be no different. We will get through this! Listen to the news that serves you and leave news that does not serve you behind.

Stay busy. Do chores you particularly enjoy. Make cookies. Perhaps washing the dishes instead of using the dishwasher will become your favorite gift to yourself.

Be kind to yourself and to others. Let fear fall away. Replace fear with love. All you need is love. Be strong beautiful people! We will get through this together.

Remember, never give up. You, no we, can do this. We are not alone.

Peace

Commitment to Write: Day 19 February 2019

List the things you appreciate.  Appreciation is your key to getting and staying out of any slump!

Good morning! Oh what a beautiful morning. Oh what a lovely evening, ooo it’s great to be living. I love myself and myself loves me!

May sound a little crazy. It’s the words to a song I learned at camp as a child, and it has stayed with me all these years. It’s a real good-feeling song! And, with a commitment to happiness, it never hurts to find some good-feeling music, good-feeling food and share with some good-feeling family members.

As long as you are willing to go with the flow of energy, life can increase in exhilaration. When we block and defend against the message of energy, we lose out. These little surprises can catch us unaware. Hopefully, you are practicing fun, and allow the surprises bringing feelings of irritation, worry, fear. You could think of them as messages. They tell us we are a little off course. We aren’t thinking quite in tune with the big picture. We sometimes see through myopic vision, and that’s always limiting.

The best way to meet up with these pesky surprises is to listen. If it’s a mild irritation, adjust your attitude slightly to open up your perspective. You’ve slid off the happiness train with some old, negative thinking and you are getting a gentle nudge to re-board. When you heed the gentle emotion and make the adjustment, you feel better almost immediately. Wow! It takes a bit of consciousness, but so much better than suffering a gloomy day.

There are times when you get thrown from the H-train and don’t even realize it. You hear the message, but you don’t really HEAR the message. It might be like hearing the digital voice in your car tell you to turn at the next corner, but you are lost thinking about what you’re going to do at work and miss the turn. You missed the directions!. Emotions can be like that! They send a message, a little discomfort or irritation, and it can be ignored. Just like the car voice gives you a new set of directions, emotions send another message. Sometimes, the volume increases.

Example: You wake up and feel uneasy about the upcoming workday. You can’t seem to shake the worry. You forget the worry feeling is a message alert: you are off course in your thinking. You aren’t seeing the big picture for your workday. Your vision is magnified, up too close, you can’t see clearly. Still, you fret about how one certain issue can’t possibly turn out well. When you go to the car, it won’t start at first. You can feel the irritation! Then it starts and you feel a bit better. As you drive, you chew on worrying over one work issue. A driver cuts in front of you and find you both are stopped at the red light. You think about how stressed the other driver must be to want to cut in front of people. Then you remember! You have this dreaded feeling about the work issue!

Things can to go poorly for you today. You have been thinking and thinking about how hopeless the issue is. You can see no solution in site. You are totally unaware you have any power to change things. You are narrowing your chances for a good day.

But wait! You read this article. You are in charge of your feelings! Your current feelings are shouting to you now. Your way of thinking about work is heading you away from a good outcome. You remember the best way for situations to work out is for you to be on the happy train.

You take a breath and start the process to feel better. You let go of the issue you have recently made bigger. You let it glide down the imaginary river. You begin to think of your co-workers. You bring them to mind by name and purposefully describe things you most appreciate about them. You begin to remember how good it feels when you get together. You can feel your body relax. You can even feel your smile return. When you enter the workplace, you are relaxed and ready to meet up, ready to build something together. You salute your emotions and the invisible you who sent messages. You make a great team! BTW, you achieve the day’s challenges with ease!

Gratitude is the healthiest of emotions!

It may be a challenge to wrap your head around emotions as the messages for balancing a happy life. It is almost magical when I listen and make an adjustment. I appreciate and trust my emotions. What a concept!

What, who, or where do you find appreciation today? –and thank you in advance for sharing your thoughts!
